First of all, thanks for all the positive comments on the last track from everyone! I’m sorry I didn’t get a chance to respond personally to everyone, but they were all really motivating.
So I made a few more tracks (4 so far) but this is my favourite out of all of them so far. I’d be happy if you could share with me your opinion on this, so I can improve my next ones. Thanks!
Just experimenting with some stuff I guess, kind of started stitching stuff up and see where it goes.
It’s quite bad but the making of this was fun and I kind of like it after really clumsy start.
It’s strange, how meaningful something can be just because it comes to you at the right time.
For me, book 3 was just that, especially the finale.
It’s hard to explain, mostly because I can’t, but Right now I’m experiencing my own recovery from a crisis (which, oddly enough, resembles Korra’s in ways you couldn’t even imagine. It’s not something any of you have experienced or ever will, and thank god for that). It changed my entire life course, and I’m still in the process of figuring out what exactly happened to me and how to fix myself.
In the final scene, when Asami says to Korra “It’s been just two weeks, nobody expects you to bounce back right away” - it hit me right in the stomach. Because I’ve had that exact conversation. And I’m feeling her pain, that feeling like you’re just broke on the inside. And that look on her face - I’ve been seeing it in the mirror for a while now. I’ve never been one to really connect with characters, but at that moment, when we recieve our happy ending but Korra sheds a tear - I don’t think I’ve ever identified with a character the way I did when I saw this.
I haven’t cried in almost ten years. The first time I’ve cried in those last ten years was after the crisis I’ve experienced, and that final moment, in the end of the episode, was the closest I’ve been in a while to crying again.
more sketches I guess
1) The Additional (wearing his eternal robe and a scarf)
2) Red and Apollo laughing (because they’re sweethearts and I forgot how fun they are to draw)
3) A yet unnamed character I’ve been working on. I’m open to suggestions
Nightmare Knight’s design is probably one of the best designs I’ve seen.
It’s simple and elegant, but still really powerful and dynamic, and it just conveys a lot of emotions even only with his eyes, movement, and the changing color palettes of the clouds around him. Plus, he’s just a fantastic character
